On June 15th, took place at Circolo della Stampa in Milan, the prize giving for the winners of the eighth edition
of the Amilcare G.Ponchielli award.
These are the motivations from the jury:
As assumed from his own introduction “the will to appear in any of the roles proposed by the small screen business, involves by now, in a transversal way, huge sections of italian population”.
The jury decided to award a prize to Lorenzo’s work for the exact ability to eternalise this desire:
despite of the impartial lecture of the environments, Maccotta can tell a story for each one of the characters portrayed. He underlines the humaneness and the unconscious self irony.
And, with levity, introduces us in a world made of hopes and ambitions, shows the almost unknown backstage
of a sparkling world.
Alessandro Penso and Michele Palazzi‘s collaborative project ‘Migrant Workers Journey’ deals with itinerant farm workers in the south of Italy and the harsh and exploitative conditions which they face in their daily lives. The project describes and tries to document the working social and human conditions of the migrant workers in a period that strictly marks their life during the tomatoes harvesting in Basilicata, a region of the south of Italy.
This is a long term project, they will keep shooting in the next months following the movements of migrants in order to document the conditions of seasonal workers in Italy.
