Pietro Masturzo was born in 1980 in Naples. After he got the master degree in International Relations at the University of Naples, he moved to Rome to study Photography.
He has been working as professional photographer since 2007 collaborating with different photojournalistic agencies and publishing his pictures on the most important Italian and foreign newspapers and magazines.
His reportages are focused most of all on social-political issues with a view to the whole world and his attention is directed on human stories, even when covering the major news events.
In 2010 he won the World Press Photo, Picture of the Year, and his story on Tehran’s roof tops won the first prize in the category People in the News.
